Dear Parents,

We have just been informed by Preventative Medicine that the protocol for the vaccination of children under seventeen years against influenza has changed and needs to be completed at the area Health Centre and not in school. We apologise for any confusion this may have caused. All school staff will be vaccinated.

Happily, we will be starting fieldtrips again and look forward to planning many interesting visits. The testing session for Grade 3 – Grade 6 commences on Monday 21^st -Friday 25^th November for one week but followed by normal school until the end of term on 9^th December. The timetable has been posted on your child’s seesaw account. All Grade 7-12 mid-year examinations will take place from 9^th -24^th January to allow us to cover the curriculum for these grades more fully. This timetable will be issued this week.

Full school reports are issued in January however we will issue an interim progress statement next week so you can review your child’s performance so far. This is a short colour coded document showing levels.

The school celebration of National Day will be on Monday 28^th November and details will be forwarded of the arrangements for each section of the school.

This term we have experienced a few staffing issues through illness and changes in personal circumstances. I would like to thank the Primary Deputy Ms Maria for taking G3 Red until a suitable replacement could be found and I am please to note a British qualified teacher has been. Ms Nicki continues to teach KG1 Green until the end of term when a British qualified kindergarten teacher will joins us.

Dear Parents,

From Wednesday 9^th November the wearing of masks in school is optional for all students and teaching staff. Should you wish your child to continue wearing a mask then please contact their teacher via the home-school book or student planner with a note in English or Arabic indicating this.

Now the weather is cool any large gatherings will be outside. It is very important that children or adults with influenza type symptoms remain at home until these are clear and as per the school protocol medical certificates are required for absence due for medical reasons. Where covid is suspected we ask you to submit the PCR test result to the school medical team.

If you have any questions on this matter kind call Ms Hanan in the school office.

Dear KG1 Green Parents,

I hope you are well. As with many schools at this time we are having a staffing difficulty, however we are able to replace the outgoing staff member with qualified teachers who are also at FPA. Ms Nicky Mackenzie has been at the school for a number of years and is qualified to teach Kindergarten and Ms Bridget also from the UK is assisting her as a fully qualified KG1 teacher. The teaching assistant Ms Raj who is very experienced remains with KG1 Green.

We wish to confirm that PCR testing is not required for Monday 10 October, however we ask parents to be vigilant if their child is feeling unwell and please do not send them to school.
